If it seems like this update is a little late, no it's not.
I mean, it's thigh-high Thursday and it's Carly Rae Jepsen album release day — very busy times for your local gay femboy, you have to understand.
But on to football stuff.
We started the week the way we've grown accustomed to: with the worst Thursday Night Football game we've ever witnessed. They truly do get progressively worse each week. And with the Commanders taking on the Bears this past Thursday, I don't think anybody was expecting any less. Boy, did they live down to those expectations.
The prior Thursday saw an anemic Colts/Broncos contest that ended 12-9. This time, The Commanders bested the Bears 12-7. Amazon could've bought TNF at the dollar store and they still would've overpaid.
Sunday would come around though and provide some actual entertainment.
Buffalo/Kansas City lived up the hype, and the Bills impressively handled business on the road, putting up 24 points and intercepting Patrick Mahomes twice. Kansas City, potentially spooked by their biggest AFC competition, restructured Travis Kelce's contract and rumors are saying it's to make space for another star (an Odell Beckham or Christian McCaffery signing perhaps?).

Fantasy managers who stashed Odell (read: I) would love to see it.
The Cardinals did their thing and put up 9 points (6 of which were actually by the defense) against the Seahawks. For context, the Seahawks had allowed over 30 points per game on average before then. AZ lost 19-9.

The Cards will get DeAndre Hopkins back in week 7, but they also lost Hollywood Brown indefinitely to injury. Good news though! They just picked up former Panthers WR Robbie Anderson!
Let's go live to Cards coach Kliff Kingsbury with his reaction to the news:

Should be...interesting...
Of course, it wouldn't be an NFL weekly recap without mentioning the primetime Denver Broncos, who took on the Chargers Monday night. Although, from the offense that was on display, you would've thought it was Thursday.
Russell Wilson actually looked like Mr. Unlimited in the first half, completing almost all his passes, scrambling around, finding open receivers, and even throwing a TD pass.
It would only be temporary, however, and both offenses would be completely inept in the second half and OT. I thought for sure we were headed for a 16-16 tie, but a muffed punt by the Broncos would change that. It was actually a brilliant play by Chargers special teams player Ja'Sir Taylor, who shoved a blocker directly into the punt returner as he tried to make a fair catch.
That put the Chargers in position for a game-winning field goal by kicker Dustin Hopkins, who had been kicking with a hurt leg all night. Hopkins had this to say after the game:
Alrighty. I gotta get outta here. Carly Rae is calling. See you guys next week! Byeeeeee
